CV joints, maybe?
Intermittently I am getting a sort of metallic clicking sound that I believe is coming from about where my left rear CV joints are located (exhaust side, figures). However, they sound is never there when I first start to drive, and it usually takes 15 minutes for it to start.
Once it has been 15 minutes the sound comes and goes. How noisy it is can vary greatly. Also, turning doesn't seem to make it better/worse. However, accelerating up a hill does make it worse. Sometimes it is surprisingly noisy, noisier than I would imagine a CV joint to be.
So, what do you guys think, could it actually be a CV joint? I can't think of anything else back their that it could be.

When my CV's went bad I was not sure if it was them or not because most everyone said that the sound would happen durring turns. Mine never really made any noises during turns, the would just make sounds, like yours, when going up hills, and also giving it a bit of power.
The CV's seem to get louder the longer you let them go. I fixed my left side and now my right side is getting REALLY loud. At first it was a clicking type sound, now its more like a clanking sound.

if you're gonna do them, might be smart to do all 4 at once, since if one's about to go, they all will follow soon & it'll just save you a lot of headaches. Also it's not much more to buy prebuilt half-axles. If you can get those it'll save you from having to pack the new CV joints with greese, making the whole job a lot cleaner. Just be careful with those CV joint bolts.
