Thaddeus your from MN? I am too, although I'm away at College. Are there many 944 owners you know in MN? It would be great to organize some sort of event.

Cool

DanD,
That is me in the black shirt and Trevor (not Keith) in the white sweater. Thank you all that showed up and all the wonderful input you said. I learned much more than I knew before-hand and came up with new ideas for my 951! Just for the record to the people that did not make it, John and Tim are the greatest down-to-earth guys I have meet in the aftermarket industry for 951, 968, and 928 etc. I hope more people get a chance to experience their love for making your ride as great and fast as you want it to be!

Cheers,
Gabe

"That's me, Dan! And there's a 968 owner missing from your list, there were five not including Roberto's NA with 968 motor."

Whoops, sorry Trevor, got a little case of lexdysia going here! Actually I'm just really bad with names. I like Gabe's idea of giving everyone nametags! You didn't hear me tell Romina at the bar about my name-forgetfulness story.

So I go into this pub in S.B. and a chic comes running up:
  • her: "Dan, Dan! It's so good to see you. How are you"?
  • me: looking puzzled... "uh... do I know you???"
We talk for a bit and it turns out I had lived with her for a year in college! And that was less than a decade ago...

Anyway, you're right, there were five 968s there:

In this line-up, it's Gabe's Subaru, you, Ron, Viet, ???, and Keith. I don't remember what the guy's name was with the red Cab...

Hello all,

Me and Redeye made it back to sunny AZ with no probs. I'd have to say that was the longest I've ever drove for pizza, but def worth it. I'm looking forward to the next one allready. One suggestion was this May in Vegas. Just think of it. A bunch a P's SLOWLY cruisin down the main strip. Think of the photo ops

Well, I can honestly say that this was a lot of fun! So the next one is going to be in sin city? I'll be there! In the mean time, here are the photos that I took. I had to resize them because they were too big, but they still look ok.

The first photos were taken at Mt. Soledad :

The next two are of the line of cars leaving Mt. Soledad. (the first one is cut off by a little bit because I was holding the camera above the car while moving)

The next six photos were taken at the PCA auto X that we crashed. There were some nice cars there but my choice for most "sticks out in a croud" would have to go to the 914 (if you can even call it that anymore) that Danno posted at the top.

The next seven photos were taken at SFR (Thanks for the pizza, beer/soda, and the raffle prizes! I'll be putting in an order for a lot of things within 2-3 months for my rebuild project!) There are two engine pics and one outside pic of a MONSTER that SFR is creating... 2.92L with over 400hp to the rear wheels!!! It's the red 951 with the VERY clean engine bay.

The last 6 photos are of Keith's 968. It's one of 12 in the world and is absolutly stunning. He even had an offer of $40,000 while we were at Mt. Soledad and turned it down. Check out all the body colored dash components and shift boot. It's all stock from the factory.

Well, that's all I'v got for now. There are a couple more that I still have to resize, but I'm going to sleep for now. I would like to thank Keith for letting Roberto, Danno, and myself crash at his place Saturday night and if your ever in the Phoenix area give us a call.

"Well Danno I am really sorry that I did not make the "Pizza Run" especially since I sort of appointed myself the Nor Cal coordinator. It sounds like it was more fun than blowing by a viper.

SFR was not finished with my car, so it just did not make sense to travel down and back, just to turn around and do it again."

Too bad we missed you, we'll just have to do another NorCal run soon. I figured SFR would have trouble with adjusting boost with the KLR chip, the Bosch computer just doesn't have the technology to do it with feedback control. Cyntex & others learned this a long time ago. That's also why AutoThority ships their kit with three different sized jets for their banjo bolt.

"I have since decided to have John and Tim continue the upgrade. The car is down there so I may as well leave it there for another month. After they complete their custom chip burning project, they will install their stage II turbo and maf. I officially have H.P. sickness."

Uh oh... sounds like you have the 'Go Fast Crack Pipe' addition:

There's no hope for you now...

Just made a video of the row of cars on top of Mt. Soledad:

<a href="http://members.rennlist.com/951_racerx/PizzaRun020323LineUp1b.mpg" target="_blank">Porsche line-up at Mt. Soledad</a>

Still missing about 6 cars that were lost waiting for their tourguide to lead them up the mountain...
