Post Leaving to visit the birthplace of our cars tomorow

Tomorow I'll be boarding a plane for a weeklong vacation in Austria.
For one day of that vacation..I will be in Germany...of course, I will be visiting the Porsche factory in Stuggart.

9:50 AM, no cameras allowed.
I'm wondering if they will let me see the cayenne...

Maybe I was sneaky, but I shot nearly an hour of miniDV footage in the museum at Stuttgart. Great cutaways, historic cars, and Alan Cadet narrating a Porsche marque video I last saw on Speedvision.

I wasn't shooting on the line or in the offices though, too touristy.

Be sure to get the cool german language hard bound sales booklets at the Porsche dealer next door.

Cheers,

Have fun. When I went the factory tour was not running, but it was great to see all those Porsches in one place. Don't worry about picture taking, memories are worth alot more.

Thumbs up

Have fun!

Also, see if you can sneak away from the tour, find a hidden stash of Zermatte Silver touch-up paints, and smuggle them out to give to me as a gift!!!

Think of it not as a vacation, but more of a pilgrimage.

I have been there and you can take pictures in the little museum at the factory in Zuffenhausen. They will not let you take pics. on the tour.

The problem with the tour is you see all the new cars go out on the test drive and you can't go with them. So I went to the phone booth inside the factory and called up and rented a new Porsche Carrera C2. Traveled all the autobahns and went out on the twisty roads to Weisach. That was an awesome time.

Good luck and have fun. OBTW, at Avis the car was $250 USD/day. Alot of them were booked up in advance. I was lucky to get one on the spot. Probably cost more that way, but not sure.
