Default Need help with one of my hatch pins

I searched but couldn't find another topic with this problem. The rear hatch squeaks like a banshee. I went to tighten up the pins last night. The left side one is all jacked up. I can twist it around while the nut is still tight. I loosened up the nut and tried to tighten up the pin but it wouldnt grab. I tried pushing the pin up into the housing to see if it would catch but no dice. Feels like maybe the threads are stripped. I can also wiggle it back and forth and pull on it and it will move some but won't come out. If I pull hard enough on it I'm sure it will.

I wasn't able to remove the housing that it screws into because one of the screw heads holding it on are broken off. The pins are also fairly rusty. I broke my hand a few weeks ago at work so I can only do so much right now.

So...question is...do you think I just need a new pin or a whole new assembly? (and sorry if my typing is crap my cast keeps bumping random keys). It's an '83

I think I figured it out. Looks like the square shaped nut that is inside of the box is probably rounded off and thats why its spinning. I can't remember what the specific names for the parts are.

I replaced the pins, nuts and studs for this. Very cheap, I ordered all the parts from my local dealer and it was under $40 to do it.

Thats good. I'm going to have to replace all the parts as well except for the rubber seal and the housing that the parts go into. The right side is really rusted and the nut it seized onto the pin.

That part DH05K3, goes inside the rectangular box correct? And then the pin threads into it?

Yup, I just snapped my pins off, took the whole rubber housing out and popped out that rubber nut, and the put the new one in, it took about 15 mins all in. That square rubber nut just pops right into a square hole. Very easy, I was a bit confused too before I took it apart.
