As far as pictures are concerned, I've asked but I don't expect a quick response from him. He said the only current pictures are all of the car on the website. I already have 5 for a group buy but I'd like to get it closer to 10. He stated that the front bumper is a basic bolt up but the rear is much more difficult as it requires extensive modifications. Please send an email to me with your city, state and zip code and I'll forward everything to him together to negoitate the best deal possible. Thanks to all, I think we are going to get a good deal. I'll keep all of you posted.

Hello everyone,
I now have 6 solid and serious commitments. I'm only looking for 4 more and then we can deal with ALBERT F. INC. Please let me know if anyone still wants to jump in on the deal. The current price in dollars is still a little unclear due to the Euro crossover. I think for a single purchase it's price will have escallated becuase the German DM took a good hit during the transfer from DM to Euro's. I'll keep you all posted as soon as I recieve new info.

You guys finally found this? I thought I was going to suprise everyone by having the only one in the US.

Ive been talking to these guys in Germany for about a year now.

I actually ordered the whole kit and they were very confused and told me they have a US representative. (A company here that will sell it for them.)

I have still yet to receive any instructions on how to install the rear end on my 944 86 na.

Here is what I got from the US contact somewhere in Ohio I believe.(sales@theracestore.com, http://www.theracestore.com)
=========================================

> hello jordan,

> here the prices:

Other notes and questions:

1) I believe the car in the picture is a 924 with the kit. That's why it has the small rear wing.

2) Does anyone know the whole procedure to put that back end onto a 1986 944na? I would like to be able to get a quote from a body shop or see if I can do it myself before I buy it.

3) Is it cheaper to buy a 968 rear end here in the US from a wreck?

4) Something I've thought of is just buying the body parts and searching for cheaper lights (maybe used) here.

Any thoughs and info (esp. for #2 above)?

Thanks!

No way the price is that high. My guess is their "US contact" is trying to rip folks off. Last I checked it was 300?

Question

Wasn't there a company in th UK that made similer products? I think I even came across their websit a while ago but I can't remember the address. I think they made a complete conversion for turning a 944 into a 968 body and also had the individual pieces for sale as well. From what I remember the body pieces were molded directly from a 968 and the cost was reasonable as well. Hmmm... 951 + 968 body = 968 Turbo (sort of).
If anyone has this site could you please post it?
Thanks,
Dan

I'm going to ask my German friend who is also a German Porsche club member to look into this.

I assumed he bumped up the prices to cover his shipping costs. Since he is basically just doing low volume and acting as a translator!

Be very careful with theracestore.com. People on the audiworld and VWvortex boards have had trouble with them. Do searches on the two boards.

This is just one on Vwvortex:
