Post 968 WING INSTALL HELP !!

I finally own a 968 wing for my 90 S2, I also have the two side trim pieces and know I need gaskets and the rear trim piece. What I need help on is some confusion about the extra brake light. I know it wasn't there on the 91 S2 but the Pet manual shows the same part # for the rear trim piece for the 91 S2 and the 92 968. Do I need the brake light and will it leave a hole and look like crap if I don't get it? Second question is there is a second gasket on the 90 S2 for the rear trim that is not there on the 968. Do I need this and what is it for?? I know it will look great when done but it is expensive.
THANKS for any help

If that's the case you'll need to add a hole in the hatch frame on each side for the 7th trim stud. [quote]but the Pet manual shows the same part # for the rear trim piece for the 91 S2 and the 92 968

Edit: yes and no... the '91 S2 and the Euro 968 use part no. 944-512-103-00-03C, and the US 968 and Euro 968 with M602 3rd brake light option use 944-512-103-01-03C. Unfortunately, neither of these will fit on a stock hatch.
[quote]Second question is there is a second gasket on the 90 S2 for the rear trim that is not there on the 968. Do I need this

You need this. There's one rubber strip that fits on the front of the trim with double stick tape and there's another gasket that runs along the back of the trim to seal against the body just like your stock hatch. Check the PET and see if this is the same part as the normal hatch (edit: they aren't the same), or maybe your gasket could be modified to fit. The 968 doesn't use this piece because it has different gaskets on the body for the latch pins.

The side trim gaskets are in the $50 each area and the center trim gaskets are in the $25-30 area for one of them and a lot more for the other as I recall. The center, below wing trim is expensive, maybe as much as $300.

I can give you the dimensions from the 6th to 7th stud holes if you need them, and also take pictures of the bare hatch to show you what they look like since I happen to have a spare bare 968 hatch.
