Default EVERYONES FAVORITE GAME - WTF IS IT!?!?!

OK, so this started out as a simple WBO2 install. I noticed some strange wiring under the dash, going to a strange box..... I cut the box out (It does not look factory) then noticed some wires going to another box Velcro'd under the dash. So I removed it too.

Now I have to know where to hook the stock wiring (That I know goes to the key somehow, cause when I cut them, the engine cranked momentarily )

Obviously the brown wires are stock... where do they go? Together?
The other wires do not appear to be stock.... could be?

Attachment 496113
This is obviously the underside of the fuse panel. The 2 grounds. Again... Brown wires?

I thought it might be an old alarm..... My car's PO didn't do to much "custom" wiring, but where he did, its horrific. Ray Charles could wire better.

So, am I just hooking the 2 brown wires back together?

OK, crisis averted LOL

I lifted the fuse panel, and it all became clear. Had to reconnect a ground, and the 2 brown wires which were butt connected to a red wire more than double is size (you can see the red wire with the blue butt connector. That is hooked to the brown wire. The brown is closer, so it looks the same size as the red, but it is not.). How that didn't blow a fuse, I'll never know.

I'm SUPER **** about wiring. I used to "make" state patrol cars from stock crown vics. There are literally hundreds of feet of wire we added to those cars for sirens, light bar, shotgun holder, radar and or laser, misc secret things. All wired together through a fuse holder under the drivers seat. It all had to be run so that when the interior was installed back in the car, your work was invisible. I just look at what people do with wiring in cars, and I want to cry.

Anyway, back to the WBO2 tomorrow.
