Hi I own a 964 Carrera 2, It is my first pots on the 944 side of the forum.
I have been looking at selling my 964 and go for a 964 RS as I only use it on track, But a friend of mine has been talking to me about the potential of the 944Turbo...I understand that Crazy horsepower figures can be achieved, but more importantly it is an excellent cost/ performance/ enjoyment alternative if the use is basically track.
I have been offered a 944 Turbo Cup, which is much more expensive than a "normal" Turbo. the price are 24.000 € and accordingly to him is suposed to be the pinnacle of the 944 SAGA. I would like to know from you IF the price will be sustained in the future without devaluations and if it worth to go for this Special Edition vehicle rather than Purchasing a 10.000€ Normal Turbo invest a few thousand on it a and eat GT3 for breakfast??
Thanks to all.![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

In the US, the turbo cups are more practical if you're not going to do crazy modifications, but rather keep them original and race them "as they were raced".
If you really want to build a GT3 eating monster, you're better off with a regular 944 turbo and then making all the necessary modifications to achieve that goal.
24k euro sounds like a pretty good deal, if the car is solid and has a good history. The last few I've seen sell in the US have been more than $45k, and I know of one out there with an asking price of $75k.

Hi Van:
Thanks for your reply.
Regarding the price, and for your comments it looks like price will stay high for good.... I don't think the 944 needs heavy mods gt3's, I have seen a 300 hp 944 Turbo with stock suspension, brakes and heavy interior being very fast already, what means that a Turbo Cup with some Diet, good Coilovers, brakes and stock engine could be very very competitive....
bye

I'm a Cup car fan from a historical perspective. Time will tell how much more they will be, but if history is followed, factory race cars ultimately do gain more in value than their street counterparts. When I was picking a race car, this was a key factor for me.
