Default burning smell, did I fry my...

wiper motor? I had my car cover on (snow) but had previously turned off the car with the wipers on. The weight of the snow prevented the wipers from moving. I let my car warm up for 15 minutes before I came back...the cabin smells strongly of burnt electronics BUT the wipers still work. What was burning? I hate f@cking snow...

That wiper motor is pretty burly. May have burnt up something else. Did you blow any fuses? Is the smell coming from the wiper motor itself?

Did you have seat warmers or rear hatch defroster on?

Everything is checking out...Hmmmm. What would cause that smell...the motor just getting over-heated? They will probably just wait to die when it's torrentially raining...it's how these cars roll.

I had a bad wiper motor and it produced a horrible burning smell. Can't say for sure that's what your problem was, but it's a definite possibility!
