Post 1987 944 brake pad warning

Hi
On my 1987 944 the brake pad warning light on the dash stays on because of a faulty contact on the front passenger brake. All brake pads are in real good condition and don't need to be replaced. Because the insulating material is completely broken off of the contact the dash warning light stay on, and just recently, it was apparently shorting out the battery over the weekend and completely drained it. The charging system and battery test good. My question is how do I disconnect these contacts at the brakes so the light no longer works. Is there one fuse that services the contacts that could be removed.

Thanks

I just cut the damn wire after the ceramic.

If I decide to fix the sensor one day I can just splice it back together.

Just dont lose the little sensors

Either cut the wires after the ceramic and mate them (butt splice), or follow the wires back to the plug and run a jumper.

FWIW, that circuit is not powered and should not cause a battery to drain - the fault circuit works by grounding the wires to the rotor during braking if the ceramic and insulation is worn away - indicating the pads need to be changed.

Good Luck!

So, is the light supposed to stay on or should it only come on when braking?
