Help oil pressure relief valve
Hello, I can't find any info on where to put the 2nd o-ring on this valve (I have new style one). When I took it out of my car it only had one on the tip and the metal sealing ring. Does the second go right after the threads in the gap? or do both go on the tip? This has been bothering me...and could be the source of my problems..does anyone have a photo of the installed o-rings?..thanks all

The tech bulletine #3 for the preasure relief valve has a detailed repair hints. It show only one O-ring on the top of the valve and a metal sealing ring. Maybe you are looking at the two different O-rings that go with the two different preasure relief valves. Here are the P/N.
For valve 944 107 035 11 use O-ring 944 107 935 11
For valve 944 107 035 01 use O-ring 944 107 935 01
Sorry I can't help more but I still am using the older style three piece relief valve, didn't want to spend $200 replacing mine.

I just spent the better part of a month dealing with the oil pressure relief valve/oil cooler issue. I was sent the wrong part from a mail order company (sent me 944.107.035.01). Took me a couple tries and many glances at the tech bulletin to realize this. I ordered the 2 o-rings and sealing ring as specified on my parts CD, but the tech bulletin only shows using one. I only installed the one on the end, and the sealing ring, and my car has no oil leaks. Furthermore, if the alleged second one is used, it would prevent the valve from moving as it should...just my opinion.

thanks all for the information...yea as my car is an 87 it had the new style valve. It only had one o-ring on it when I took it out (maybe parts of old o-ring in the oil cooler?). I still have crazy oil pressure (have pressure then drops to zero then if I rev it goes back up then drops again and again) I am going to redo the the oil cooler and use the alignment tool ( my o-rings got sliced so may be out of wack) once again thanks all...dan

Dan, have you checked the torque on the crank bolt? The oil pump is friction driven, and that torque is real important. Though not the normal sign of it being out of spec, this could explain your low-pressure-when-revved problem.
