Tie Rod Puller Recommendation wanted

Tie Rod Puller Recommendation wanted
I'm going to change the tie rods on my '84 NA
I've seen the fork seperators, but they invariably break the rubber seals on the tie rod ends.
Anyone have a recommendation on a screw type puller?
Autozone has a pitman arm puller #27016(http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/in_our_stores/loan_a_tool/pullers_specialized/pitman_arm.jsp) & a tie rod end puller # 27022 (http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/in_our_stores/loan_a_tool/pullers_specialized/tie_rod_end.jsp); but I'm not sure which would fit!
The one in the Porsche workshop manual (page 48-09) looks good - but probably unobtainable & very expensive anyway... <img src="graemlins/icon107.gif" border="0" alt="[icon107]" />
TIA

Two five pound hammers.
Place the face of one against the side of the boss on the end of the spindle arm (this is where the tapered hole for the tie rod is) and smack the opposite side with the other hammer.
Loosen the nut on the tie rod first.
NOTE: You are NOT hitting the tie rod. Just the sides of the boss where the tapered hole is.
Used this method for years on VW's. It works.
