I am sure there has been a lot of turn over on the 944 board in the last 5 years, but before I left for some opportunities in NYC I spent a lot of time on these boards.

To trip down memory lane here are visual history of my p-cars...

First up came a Black 944 Turbo then ended its days in an unfortunate engine fire



Car number two, another black 944 Turbo, ended up trading this one for number 3...



And car number three, well it took quite some time to put together, but it ended up as quite a monster, leda coil overs, vitesse turbo, 996 TT monoblock calipers, etc etc...



Number 4 was purchased as project that was sold after a short stay



Number 5 was a Amazon Green 968, never really liked this, perhaps it was the particular 968, or it was the color, who knows....



Number 6 was this a nice Gray 951, for some reason this is the only picture I can find:



Number 7 was a sun roof delete 924, but I also having troubling finding pictures of it, odds are thats for the best it was a bit of an ugly duckling (not that 924s are ugly, this one just happened to be ridden hard and put away wet).

Number 8 was a parts car, traded #6 for it, great learning experience pulling apart a car



And after all of that one would think I would have landed into another water pumper, but it turns out that I have decided to go the air cooled route for #9...



Might not be appropriate for the 944 boards, but just wanted to say hello after a long absence....

Cool history. Welcome back. I almost purchased a 911SC recently (a timeless classic); however, the 944s remain. Lots to like about both models.

Welcome back ! I think I recall about 1/2 of your prior vehicles .....what's the scoop on the pusher? Year, etc?

The 911 is an '83 SC. The paint is not what I would call good (perhaps a 20ft car once I spent a lot of time with the orbital), but the mechanicals are solid. 150k on the clock, with minimal mods, what I would deem a solid driver.

How do you like the different feel of the car (compared to a 944)?

I had a very hard time putting them in order, and I may or may not have screwed it up a little, so if I cannot keep them straight, I can't imagine anyone else being able to. In the one year I had sold so many cars if I sold one more I was going to have to apply for a dealers licence...... Besides we cannot all hold onto cars for as long as you have, side note your car is looking wonderful as always.

I have not had a chance to really push the SC, but I aside from both being sports cars, the 951 and the SC have almost nothing in common. After I get a chance to spend more time behind the wheel, and perhaps get the car back out on the track I will have many more observations. For now I will say the SC is much more of a raw experience, while the '44s feel much more refined and modern. One isn't better than the other, just different.

Also in case anyone was worried (I am sure no one was) I do have an 80's water cooled German in the garage next to the 911.....

I remember you from when I was still new around here, you had some cool cars! I think you probably hated the 968 because it wasn't turbo?

Enjoy the 911 and stop by here often, we will slowly remind you why 944s are better.

I had a 911S for a while, it was my cruiser while my 1987 951 remained the fast car/ track car

Welcome back. I remember your red 951 and all the effort you put into it. Does your father still have that mean looking 911?

Must be confused, I have not had the fortune of making it to one of the 944 fests....

Good to be back Luis, having a garage again is one of the simple joys in life I had missed. As for my father's 965, sadly he decided that he needed something a bit more practical. He is now driving a 1991 E34 M5, the last truly hand build M car. It does not hold a candle to the P-car, but it is a fun sports saloon in its own right.
