Another radio reception question

I've read where there is some type of powered amplifier for the antenna. Mine must not be hooked up because my reception STINKS. I've looked for a loose wire and have partially traced the antenna wire itself, but haven't found it yet. I took this picture of some wires that I did find. Anybody know what they are? Any suggestion?

tye - right above your knuckle you can see the wire that runs alongside your antenna cable...THIS wire needs to be connected to your radio's remote wire.
if the wire was not remotely connected to your system, then splicing it should help your FM reception quite a bit.
