I started the head gasket job today. Every thing is going according to plan. I do have some more questions for everyone though.

In the picture there is a valve, I forgot the name. How do I check it? I know that you blow or suck on one of the ports to test. Also where can I get the hose on the left? It is very dry and cracked.

I had to remove the coolant resivour. It looks like there is orange mud stuck inside!! How can I clean this properly?
