BLF: (Bad Luck Fund): April 2002 - VOTING THREAD
Hey everyone. This is going to be the voting thread for the BLF for April. I know we had a slightly rough end to the first month of it but I still think we can all make this thing work.. afterall it is the first time we are doing this so theres bound to be a few bumps along the way.
Basically, voting starts today Sunday 28th, 2002 and will run until Wednesday, May 1st, 2002, 11:59PM EST. I hope that gives everyone enough time to post a thread stating who you think should recieve the BLF prize/pot for this month. Only those who said they will participate in the pot (that is, send $5 to the winner and be eligble for next months BLF) are allowed to vote, as well as those who posted stories (because they are automatically entered as participants, and all losers will also contribute).
For this time only people who posted in the previous thread can vote. Thanks.
Here is the thread for deciding your vote: BLF April 2002

Dave E
Mark-87-951
Joel's_84_944
Paul Kroenke

Steven
There yo go. I think all the participation we have going with this is really something special. Cast your votes!

Even though I'm on here too and have had some sucky mechanical luck, I'll have to vote for Paul Kroenke. I just read his story over.
This just goes to show you that unless you are actually a professional driver, don't think you are and think you are invinsible.
I really would say alot more but he's already got enough on his mind.
The only thing I will say is that if any of the younger guys are looking to buy a 951 as their first car or first Porsche -- DON'T! Get a 924/S/944na, learn the marque and car and what it has to offer with a little less HP under your control and you will end up better in the long run. Like my pops always told me: "First you crawl, then you walk, then you run."
With that said, I vote for Paul Kroenke.
Take care - Good luck Paul,
Matt
<------EDIT
I didn't see the entire story about Steve and his trials. I don't think he wants anyone's money from this board, but I do have sympathy and wish him the very best. I think it is absolutely amazing that there are several folks on here that are willing to give him $100 at a time! That is so awesome I don't have the words. Even if it never happens because he refuses help or what have you, it is still very cool and I salute those folks who volunteered to help this brother in his time of need. For those who do so, pray for Steve, from what I gather, would be more special to him then $100.
Good luck. I think this BLF is an interesting idea and I hope it doesn't fall to the wayside.
Tom R, just want to say you seem like a good man.

I know that i didnt sign up for this but i would like to vote for steve, but i cant match the $100 that some of the others are i would like to put forth $25 instead of the $5. I hope this doesnt cause any problems i just hate to see someone in that kind of a situation.

My ballot is also for Steve, if he will accept. Maybe someone could contact him and let him know that this isn't a "fundraiser" directed specifically towards him, but rather a general fund that anyone can qualify for. Maybe he will reconsider???
Thanks Operator, for taking on this BLF. I'm sure there will be alot of twists and turns, and alot of bugs to work out, but I too, would like to see it succeed...this "trial run" should prove to be interesting...BLF possible permanent status on this board???
