Final Details: Baltimore Meet: Friday, November 15th...Timonium, MD...
On Friday Night, November 15th, starting at 6:30 pm we'll be having an audi/porsche/bmw/vw meet in the baltimore area. Everyone from Baltimore, DC, South PA, Annapolis and beyond, is welcome and I hope everyone who is free can attend.
Date: Friday, November 15th, 2002
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: The Krispy Kreme across from the Maryland State Fairgrounds
Directions:
From the North (PA):
Take I-83 South towards Maryland/Baltimore
Take Exit 17 (Padonia Road)
Make a left at the end of the onramp following the signs for the Fairgrounds
At the fourth light, York Road (its the biggest intersection so you can't miss it, again, following the fairgrounds signs) make a right onto york road.
About a half mile down the road on the left is the timonium shopping center with the Krispy Kreme right on York Road, its a can't miss.
Just turn into the shopping center, it has a real big parking lot, so room won't be a problem.
From the Baltimore Metro Area:
Take I-695 Towards Towson, this will be going north on 695 if your coming from south baltimore.
Take 695 to I-83 North.
Get off on the first exit, 16A (Timonium Road)
Go straight until York Road (third light, again the biggest intersection)
Make a left onto York Road.
Less than a 1/4 mile on your right is the Krispy Kreme and the Shopping center, you can't miss it.
From DC and points south:
Make your way to I-95 North and take the I-695 North (or West, not sure what it says) exit towards Towson
Take 695 to I-83 North and follow the above directions, taking the Timonium Exit (16A)
From Annapolis:
Find your way to I-97 North all the way to I-695
Take I-695 north towards towson, and all the way to the I-83 North Exit
Again follow directions above from the Timonium Road Exit (16A)
I've heard from a good number of people, so it looks like theres gonna be a really good turnout.
Weather should be fairly acceptable as well, it shouldn't get too chilly but a jacket should be the only thing needed. I'm gonna post updates on each respective site (audiworld.com, dtmpower.net,
vwvortex.com) so follow suit if you want to see what's going on.
I imagine that this will last a while so those who eat an early dinner feel free to stop by, i'll probably stay until 10 at least. Theres a Krispy Kreme and a Panera Bread and a Cheeburger, Cheeburger, right in the center in case anyone wants food, (and Towson Diner, a personal favorite is only like 3-4 miles south on york road, in towson,) plus this area is quite convenient to I-83 and 695.
Any questions please feel free to IM me on AOL/AIM at screenname: Absltgreek
Or You can email me at Absltgreek@aol.com
We'll also have some more details concerning the Baltimore County drive that's gonna happen on a
Sunday in the first two weeks of December.
Thanks a lot, and I hope everyone can show up, it's gonna be a real good time.

Christian,
Haven't been to this particular meet in Timonium (but I am planning on going tomorrow night).
As I understand it, basically it's just a bunch of car guys getting together and talking cars. I'll have a 944 there, it would be nice to see some other P-Cars there. Probably a lot of Audi's, VW's and BMW's.
Should be fun, but worth driving from NJ?
If you need a place to stay afterwards, you're welcome at my house.

Did a lot of Rennlisters show up for this? I couldn't make it until around 8:45pm and didn't see any Porsches. But I did see about 100 modified Volkswagons. Tons of GTIs & a few 16V Sciroccos. Some were heavily modified and very nice. There were about 100 people standing around talking.

I stopped by on my way home around 6:30. I just cruised by the parking lot but didn't see any Porsches, just a ton of VWs and Audis so I just left. Looked to be a bunch of guys there just hanging out talking, enjoying the nice weather. Too bad more P-cars didn't make it out. Maybe next time.
