Ross,
I just sent you an email, I need your directions again. I had them on my work email, and I had to leave in a hurry today.
You guys will love this: Becki was taking one of the dogs to the vet today, he's had the trots. Well, she managed to lock the keys in the pathfinder with the dog, and she'd already locked the house. A black pathfinder with the windows up, a dog that's already dehydrated to start with, and it was sunny and 95 degrees. She resolved it with a neighbor and his hammer. Great. $400 damage they did....

Hey guys, sorry Brian and Kevin for not getting back to you guys soon enough. Didn't check the rennlist site all weekend.
But the repairs are coming along well, but very slowly. With a few snags (like hack sawing a craftsman ratchet extension piece in half because it got jammed between the crank pully and the fan housing) most of the job is coming along nicely. Just gets frustrating at some points when you get tired of pulling things apart to get to other things.
Now though, I'm at the point where I have to take out my oil pump. Looks like oil coming from there originally. I'm posting another thread after this with some questions to all on removing the oil pump. Once that's out, I can reseal it, put on some of that Loctite stuff, and install it again. then I can get to the other seals and finally belts and rollers.
One thing I did get finished however is the rear cam gasket. The old gasket look worn beyond its years. Installed the new one, which was a PITA, cause it doesn't give you much room back there to work. Not like there's much room anywhere to work in that engine. So the work continues. Hopefully might be done by end of week.

Update:
Well, definitly pulling the oil pump off. Unbolted entire unit and ready to pull out. Need to pull the crankshaft woodruff key out. What an PITA. Thing is stuck in there good. Left it soaked in PB Blaster overnight. Hopefully it will give this afternoon when I get back to it. Oil pump looks tightly fit in there too. Might be an effort to yank that out. More to come later. Pete, might need to keep your tools for another week. Hope this isn't a problem.

Ross,
No problem on the tools. Gptta get the job done.
Does the key need to come off because you are pulling the oil pump? We did not remove it if I recall.
