Post Is your drivers side seat bolster worn?

I've been meaning to put this up for a while, but if your drivers side bolster is worn, at least on the 4 way power seats it is very easy to change the seatbacks side to side.

On each side of the seat there are 2 phillips screws for the trim, 2 15mm bolts and a C clip for the release cable that leans the seat forward.

Very easy 30-45 min. tops, it doesn't do anything for the worn one but with a good one now on the drivers side it won't get worse. I didn't think of this until mine had worn through on my old seats.

Did this same thing, but I had the seats out of the car. Did you do this with the seats in place?

Cheers,

Good tip triscadek, but too late for me. Mine is worn through bad on drivers side. SO new seatcovers for me. Travis has a great price on them and the quality is unbelievable. It does not look like vinyl at all. Looks and feels just like leather. I put the sample up next to my office leather chair. And could not tell the difference between grain or feel. Next on my list.

YESSSS! I was wondering about that. Mine is worn, but not worn through. Gonna swap 'em this weekend.

Kewl....going to do this to mine as well. Just starting to show wear over there. I have been making a definite point of moving myself up and around the bolster getting in and out to prevent it from getting worse. This should really just about eliminate wear on that spot that's worn, too as it moves it to the inside bolster on the passenger seat where there would be little wear.

I'll have to double check as my driver's side is one of the 8-way adjustables though, not just 4....that might not work as the passenger side is just 4 way....hmmmm

Cheers!

I'm trying to be more careful when getting in and out of the car. The driver's side seat bolster is typically a good indicator of car mileage! They wear to pieces over time (at least the leather ones do). If you take a little care when getting in/out, you can avoid a lot of the wear.
