Rear Bumper pads
Has anyone taken the rear bumper pads off? How do you do it? How many holes are left to fill?
I'm looking for ways to make my rear end look "nicer"
Any pics of cars with US spec bumpers, without the pads?

I'm thinking about this also as I make my rear end look better. Take your best joke shot. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
Each pad is held on by two bolts, at least on a 88 TS. I am thinking of just getting four black plastic (my car is black) low profile plugs and sticking them in the bolt holes. Simple and cheap. Any real hardware store will carry suitable plugs.

There are three nuts on each side.
The fasteners are M8 nuts, I think. In my case, they were completely rusted to the posts. I had to cut them off. I was just looking to replace my rear bumper pads with ones in better condition.
The holes are not quite round - at least on my car, they were somewhat oval shaped (probably to allow for small changes in alignment during assembly).

I took mine off since my car was going to get painted and there are three holes. They are not exactly round so I dont think plugs will work. Anyway I will post pics as soon as it is done.

I thought about looking for some wide (2-3")rubber self-adhesive strips that could be used to simulate the Euro bumper, but I've to busy to do more than think about it. Something like the do-it-yourself side moldings that were popular way back in the 1970's, but wider.
Anyone tried this?
