Default Does tiptronic suck?

I know nothing about this...but there is a cheap 968 locally with it. It sounds pretty lame but wanted to hear opinions...

not so sporty option, but if you're not tracking I don't think it is not too bad either. depends what you want to do with the car.
Tip with cabrio could be ok.

yeah, it sucks. It's slow (only 4 speeds) and mushy. Only buy it if you've always wanted a 968 and this is really the only one you can afford..... and one day you can do a 5-speed swap

My wife has paddle shifters on her RX8 and it ruins it for me. The car has a lot of power but it is all at the high end but the car shifts long before you reach the power band so you never get put back in your seat. Even in paddle shifter mode the transmission will overrule you and change gears on you if you push the RPMs too high or low. Furthermore, in automatic mode the car often shifts into 5th (instead of 6th) at highway speeds burning unnecessary gas.

I would avoid it if I were you or at least not pay any premium for it.
