Default High Oil Pressure?

Hello!
I have an 87 Porsche 951 and I have had continuous problem with high oil pressure. When my car is idled or under low throttle it sits at 5. bar. When floored it will drop to maybe 4 bar.
Engine oil light on...

Any thoughts on what could cause this?

The light is supposed to be for low pressure/level so i would check the oil level. The pressure should be high under cold start-up and go down as the oil temp rises

I had my oil pressure sender crap out. It would read 5 bar at idle, 6 bar at higher rpm. then it would flicker up and down at idle. Replaced the sender and all is well

The oil level is fine... I will check the grounds and try replacing the sensor.
More questions:
It is my understanding my 87 951 has two oil sensors. I thought it has an oil level sensor and and oil pressure sensor? Is this correct?
My hope is that it is an oil level sensor that has broken and dropped and is reading low oil level (despite its healthy condition)...

Do you think it safe to drive in its current condition? I haven't gotten to drive her in a few days and all I think about all day is getting behind the wheel again

Yes thats correct. Which oil light are you seeing? The light that says "Engine Oil' means the level is low and doesnt have anything to do with the pressure, but I could be wrong.

To get rid of that light just ground the wire thats going into the level sensor on the pan

On the NA's the sender unit is both a pressure switch and a gauge sender. It lights the red bar at the 0 psi position on the gauge. The level sensor lights the oil can light. I changed out my sender because it was leaking, and it noticeably changed my readings; pressure at cold idle dropped 1/2 bar, pressure at hot idle increased 1/2 bar, pressure at higher RPM stayed about the same.
