Default Where did you put your amp?

Pretty much im looking for a new amp location... I had it in the spare tyre well and water touched it and now it dosn't work so soon im buying a new one (Alpine PDX4.100) The old amp just sat at the bottom of it mounted on a piece of MDF board. I need a new location or possibly the same just in a different way... I need some ideas on where you've mounted yours or just an idea where to put it.

Just some info: my 951 is Euro spec so the battery is in the boot. (left compartment) and i don't my amp in the right compartment because then i don't have storage space. Spare wheel well is an option just how. And i don't want the amp just to float around in the boot.

Thanks
Paul.

PDXs are tiny. Could you not fit it in the right compartment and still have quite a bit of space? I would also bet that one would just about fit inside the spare wheel, if you're still carrying it.

More alarmingly, though, how did the amp get wet?

I have two amps mounted on either side of a (speaker box type) carpet covered disk tightly fitted in the spare tire wheel.

I mounted mine on the underside of my old seat back for a rear seat delete project. Fold it down it's out of sight, lock the seat back up and you can access the storage compartments

I would but i have my jump leads in there and 'tools' and i dont want the amp to get bashed if you knnow what i mean,

um my right tail light seal didn't hold water in & the hose that catches water ffrom the hatch locks was clogged.

The spare wheel is out also.

wasn't able to find any good solution to the dilemma of wanting to run two full size amps. the 4-channel rockford amp is mounted on the floor behind the passenger seat - but the seat clears the amp... i wanted full space for my bags behind driver seat so i signed off on a shelf to enable mounting the sub amp flush over the passeger side seat delete. in other words, the sub amp sit's level a couple of inches above the crater on the passenger side.

i'm sure someone will think of a place were i can better mount the sub amp.

I'm also thinking of cutting on the wheel arch in the carpet and recesses the amp, anyone done this?

I did the spare tire well, and im pretty obsessed with keeping the drain clear. So far so good, i had a close call but now i check it regularly. I also got the drains in the hatch latches cleared and working since then and it helped a lot with keeping the well dry.

Mine is in the glove compartment. Fits perfectly and it was easy to hide the wires.
