Post Sputter or misfire at idle

I have a 1987 Porsche 924S. I just moved from Jacksonville, Florida to Washington D.C. Prior to leaving Florida the car ran fine. Now that I am up north the car has slowly began to have an issue. At idle, the car seems to sputter almost like it is missing a beat every now and then. When I accelerate I do not notice the same problem. However, if I decelerate or maintain an even speed the misfire or sputter reappears. Any ideas? Fuel pump, fuel regulator, spark plugs?

I'd begin by looking for a vacuum leak. As our cars age the vacuum hoses and fittings have a nasty habit of going south (or north in your case). The loss of vacuum is much more noticeable at idle than at speed.

Are there any obvious fittings I should check first?

I have noticed that when going down a hill and I let off the gas or maintain the same amount of gas I get the sputter/misfire. However, when going uphill and applying acceleration the car is fine.
