Talking The Racers Group & Rennlist/Suncoast Porsche/Thalist.com

The Sebring race was an eventful one for The Racers Group with a week of working through tire issues and finally getting things settled we found our lead Porsche #66 knocked out of the race by the Audi #2 R8. The hit broke the suspension and we lost the ability to steer which meant no making it back to the pits. The officials did not put out the caution so the 66 sat of the track for several hours until the Spyker GT class car spun out and left the track only to hit the dead 66 in the rear. That finally brought out the caution and we were able to retrieve the car.

While all of this was going on our #67 car driven by Larry Schumacher, Bob Nagel and Jim Pace rose to the occasion and worked very hard to finish the race at a very respectable 4th place in class just 1.8 seconds behind the 3rd place PK team #60. With our 66 car having been constantly faster than our 67 car we felt the 66 would have easily brought in a 2nd place Finnish. But that is not the way it turned out so off we go to the next event.

Kevin Buckler did a fantastic job of maintaining his composure after loosing his lead Porsche and concentrated on getting all they could out of the 67 car and drivers. I was very impressed in the crew of The Racers Group and we are very proud to be a part of their Porsche racing efforts this year.

Our next race is this Saturday at the California speedway. This will be a Grand Am event that is scheduled to be 400 Miles or 4 hours which ever comes first. Speed Channel will be airing the race live beginning at 3:30 PM Eastern time. Currently we have the 66 entered and are working to get the 67 set up and entered as well.

The Racers Group is without a doubt a very good team and has the potential to earn a Grand Am GT class championship, and Give the Alex Job Porsche team a run for the ALMS championship. Even if we don't beat them they will at least know they were being chased all season.

I hope you will make it to some of the events and help us cheer Kevin and his crew on to some well deserved victories. During the year we plan to offer Hot Pit tickets to the events as prizes from drawings or contests. We are working on the promotion and will announce it soon. The winners will be with the crew at the trailer and in the pits during the days leading up to the race and on
race day. Should be a lot of fun for many different Porsche enthusiast during the year.

Congrats to you all! And, the rest of the strong Porsche showing at Sebring. Too bad BMW took their ball and ran home... they could have at least tried to compete on the level playing field this year. [alter ego at work here]

Anywho, Rennlist is getting some great advertising mileage out of the TRG cars... guess who's on the cover of this month's Pano!
