car won't start
was driving the car last night and it was fine. went out today and it won't start. it cranks but won't start up. possible problems?
checked the fuse already for the fuel pump and it was fine. have to go so i don't have time to really investigate but any suggestions would be helpful. thanks

You know, I'm a little fuzzy on the "Turns over" and "cranks" terms, in my mind those mean the same thing but that's not important. I gather the starter is turning the motor but it won't start.
You can check for spark by pulling a plug wire, putting in a spare plug and grounding the plug to the head (or better yet use a spark checker so you can check for adequate coil voltage too) and having someone try to start the car while you observe the spark.
You can check for fuel at the fuel rail. There is a large cap over a test port you can loosen with a... 17 or 19mm wrench. With the key off there should be residual pressure there, enough to send a decent amount of fuel spraying out when you loosen this fitting so cover it with a rag, wear saftey goggles, and be ready to turn it closed again quickly.
Also, try tapping the DME relay Or whacking it on your thigh.)
