Default Center Vent Gauge Panel

I've seen a few pictures around of people who have custom made a panel to replace the center vents for gauges. I'd like to do this myself, possibly source the material from a quarter panel or something.

It just seems like a better place for gauges than beneath the radio.

Has anyone does this, or seen someone who's done it?

Got no response from this so, I am treading a different path. My goal is to fit 3 gauges in this space. Here is a mock up that I've made from lexan.

Thanks Techno Duck for the guidance!

I made one out of 0.1" aluminum plate for my race car. Did 3 gauges in it with room to spare.

Here is an update to this, tried to keep the gauge look consistent with the "theme" of the car.

Now I just need to modify the trim to allow space for the AFR gauge.

I can't read the AFR gauge, who makes it?

Looks like a good project.

It's part of the Innovate Motorsports LC-1 wideband O2 setup. My goal was to find a gauge that was black with white lettering, 2 1/16" in size, and had an "analog" look to it. I had to paint the bezel on it black to match the others. You cant change the bezel unfortunately

They are all electric gauges so they will light up when the headlamps are on, at least once they are hooked up correctly!

Probably adds up to a total of

Boost gauge /w sender: $80
Oil temp gauge /w LR drainplug and sender: $100
Wideband O2 sensor /w gauge: $210
Lexan: $10
Cheapo harbor freight dremel: $15
Total: $415 and LOTS of patience

Finally mounted this thing inside the console trim. I need to get some black screws to hold it back, but, nonetheless, almost ready to put into the car.

Nice work man, thanks for updating your progress!

What about the vent itself? You don't like AC or Heat? Is this a track car?

A/C is deleted. So, this is mostly a fun car and not a DD. I'm going for a lot of weight savings, so, I kicked the A/C, back seat, etc.

I'll probably post a template when I'm done in case anyone wants to reproduce it.
