Seems to be quite a few 951 owners in the area - anyone interested in getting together while the weather is still good these days? What about a Whistler run on the weekend? or

Yeah, that's right, each bottles weigh 15lb empty, holds 10lb of nitrous for a total of 25lb per bottle full. All in good due time. But the supercharger is going in first.

Hey guys,
I've been down in Argentina for the last 6 months, but I'm back now. So glad to be home. The car is aching to be driven, so I'd definitely be into a get together and and drive.

This Saturday (tomorrow) is the last of the Porsche Club breakfast club meetings, where a bunch of Porsche owners meet in West Van in the morning and cruise up to Whistler, then go for breakfast. I remember a Rennlister named Lance mentioning it awhile back. I'm currently trying to find out more info about where to meet and what time.

For everyone's info, there is a driver's ed track day at Mission Raceway being organized for October 17th. I've already signed up, and it should be a good time. Call Stuart at Weissach for more info, or sign yourself up at www.morrisport.com All you need is $215, a helmet (motorbike helmet ok) and your car. I hope to see some of you guys there!!!

I'm in for a get-together. RandyJ, I sent you a PM.

Ian, I attended a BBC (Bob's Breakfast Club) drive last summer as a guest. They usually meet at the West Vancouver Starbucks (5339 Headland Drive, Caulfield exit.) I don't remember if they meet at 6:30 am or leave at 6:30 am. This is a PCA-CWR sanctioned event, so I don't know how they feel about non-PCA members tagging along. I applied for PCA membership a week ago so that I could go on this drive, but haven't heard back yet. Maybe I will give Bob Benson a call and check with him.

If the BBC folks don't want us along, is anyone else up for a non-sanctioned Rennlisters' drive to Squamish or Whistler tomorrow morning? The early morning start is a good idea to avoid traffic. Someone with a radar detector to identify donut shops would also be good, although I am sure that all traffic regulations would be obeyed.

I just joined the forums.

I live downtown, and I'm trying to buy an 86 951 out in Surrey. 10k.

I hope it all goes well cuz I've always loved that model, it's my dream car.

Guards Red on Black insides.

Hi Don,
I just sent an email to all the Vancouver area 944 owners I could find email addresses for on Rennlist. If you want me to forward that email to you, then send me your email address at ianm@uniserve.com

I recently joined the PCA, and I'm planning to meet at the Starbucks off the Caulfield exit tomorrow morning. Apparently they meet at 6am. Let's all meet there for starters. If we decide to go off on our own, we can always do that. Or perhaps Bob will let any non-PCA folks to join in, seeing as it's their last one of the year.

Sounds good to me - see you all at Starbucks at 6ish - best thing is it's just down the block for me!

We can decide whether or not to go all the way to Whistler, but Squamish is easy to do. I've got my Bel985 and K40 jammer running..... but, I still like the idea of a rabbit up ahead a 1/2 klm! Any volleys?

Randy, are you sure the jammer does anything? Has it ever saved your bacon, and how could you tell? I just wonder about those things.

One solution to the rabbit is to have a volunteer leap-frog ahead 15 minutes or so with a celphone. When you guys catch up, you take a rest stop for a while and let him get out ahead. No guarantee, but it's better than nothing. How's the celphone service on that road?

Your PCA chapter would be a little weird if they turned away potential new members. I mean, an extra car or two doesn't cost them anything, does it. I'd think they would welcome new guys to a event like this.

I wish I was out there, and not in curve-free southern Ontario.

K40 was by PO, so that's why I rely on the good 'ol rabbit out front. I can always find somebody who wants to "show" the P-car what they have, so I just let them go up front. Cel reception is very good on Sea to Sky - why this is the Whistler road after all, one of the busiest in BC. It works.

BTW, the Bel985 is really good - few false alarms, but lots of hits - I was amazed at the number of speed units out there once I started to "believe" the the B985. Less than the cost of a ticket too.

Years ago when I was racing sailplanes, we used to travel in these long convoys, and use our aircraft band radios for passing etc. It was great, because over long stretches, the guy up ahead could advise on passing - even in blind curve mountain passes. Probably too busy these days to do that anymore though.

If you ever want to head south instead of north, come on down to Anacortes (halfway to Seattle). Just go to Mt Vernon and head west until you get to the ocean (about 15 miles). If you take Chuckanut drive down the coast it's much more fun than the I-5. I'll have cold beer in the fridge for ya but it'll probably be American

That is.. if you don't mind hanging around with a lowly 944 instead of a 951.

For cruise control they use a piece of rope tied to the steering wheel.
