Post 225/45-17 on 7"?

I've decided on Bridgestone S03's for the tire upgrade on the 951. The front tires will be going on 7x17 993 wheels. Question is, how well does the 225/45-17 tire work with the 7" rim? According to the Bridgestone web site, the tires will work with a rim from 7" to 8.5" in width. They recommend 7.5" rims - so I'm at the bottom of the recommended width. Anyone else running this combo? Any problems?

TIA

PS: Rears are going to be 255/40-17's on 17x9. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

You'll be fine with 225/45 on 7" wheel...stock Turbo S uses 225/50 on 16x7" front wheels. I'll be putting 205/50-17 on my 17x8 front wheels just to see how quick the response is, then I'm moving up to 225/45 later.

Yes, they will steer easier (but won't give any faster response), but the balance of the car will be all off. BTDT with stock 996 17" sizes. I didn't realize how bad that combination was until I changed to S-03s in 225/45 and 255/40-17 on my 7 and 9x17 rims. They are much better.

Here are two reasons why it's not a big mistake and why I will like the 205's:
1. They're Pirelli PZeros and I got them for $5 each.
2. I won't push these tires to the limit because I have another set of wheels I'll be using for track/autocross [16x7 and 16x8 with 225/50 and 245/45 A032-R tires].
