I'm not 100%, but I don't think you're suppose to jack the car up from the transaxle.

Is that right, or did I just make that up?

Yes it is supposed to have a large rubber plug, if you want one you can come by and I'll give you one of the extras I have kicking around.

You can lift it there, I would use a piece of 2x4 between the jack and the trans housing or you could crack the case.

I have a race car and due to inspection and tire changes jack my car up quite a lot. I have always used the side point mid way under the door at the diamond. There is hard point there and it lifts the entire side of the car and gives access to tires and jack stand locations.

ONCE I used the transmission to lift the car as I was doing a left to right side tire swap on the rear and wanted to be fast. I won't do it again as the car compressed a bit before I got the tires free. remember that the entire rear weight of the car must go through the rubber mounts when you lift here. They are not designed to carry that much weight. It did not damage the car, but I have not intention of lifting there again as I think there are better places to that. Why stress the transmission mounts when you don't need to?

Just my $.0002
