Wastegate Question:
What is the psi if you clamp of the wastegate vac line?
I installed a MBC and I was unable to get any boost above 2... I then decided to clamp off my rebuilt 15psi wastegate and now I'm seeing 5-6psi in first, 8-9psi in second... haven't tried third yet.

ok, so does that mean since my wastegate has a 15psi rated spring that I should see 15psi max in the higher gears? since I did it the car boost great, nice smooth clim into boost..

If you have a 15psi spring, then it should boost to 15psi if there is no boost signal. 15psi seems to be a pretty high pressure for the spring. Most usually do an 8-10lb spring as more of a failsafe.

Ya, the wastegate was done by Teamcrossworks... paid around 200 for it and man it is worth it. I haven't seen 15psi yet but I'm in the city so I'm lucky to see 3rd gear.. But it really does pull a lot better than my old factory one, boost builds up a little quicker it feels and if I punch it pulls nice and smooth.
I think my mbc is bad cause if I can boost then I know the wastegate is doing fine and the turbo is working. I checked 5 times about how I installed the MBC and it was correct so, I guess for now I'll just keep the wastegate plugged and watch my lvls.

it was a turbonetics brand... i found out my wastegate has a 7lb spring and is built to hold 15psi... so I shouldn't have the drop off from 15psi to 12-13psi in near redline.
