Post Clutch problem

I went to test drive my car yesterday ( just drove it for 5 minutes) and when it started to push it a little, and it saw the revs's slowing down as i pushed on the throttle, as if the clutch was slipping. Then It finally gave way, and I smelled the burning. I don't understand how it could have been a burned clutch, becuase it's just been changed. Now, I also noticed that all of my brake fluid was on minimum in a matter of weeks. A few weeks ago, I checked it and it was on the max level. Also, I feel no pressure on the pedal as if the pedal is not enaging the clutch. When i go to put into gear, the gears grind. It's very hard to put it in gear. I have a feeling this is all linked together. A friend suggested that it could be dealing with a pump of some sort, dealing with the clutch. It could be leaking, thus causing the loss in level, and it could have filled up where the clutch is, thus causing the slipping and the smell. could it be a master cylinder? or some sort of slave cylinder? I really doubt that it's the clutch slipping. Thanks for your help guys.

probably master. if you get under the car you can see it pretty well on the drivers side, and see if its leaking. Also look inside the car in the footwell where the pedal goes through the fire wall, if thats wet at all its probably your master. If you are going to change one just do both, slave cylinder is on the bellhousing, right near the starter.

also check back when you need to bleed it, if you cant do it. These things are a bitch to bleed.

there's no leaking, that's why I think its the slave that's leaking. It's filling up in the bell housing and causing the clutch to slip. Which line supplies the oil? and also what is the small "valve like" thing that's on the line right next to the master cylinder? Is it a one way valve? Does that have to do with the clutch fluid supply?

did you check the bellhousing?or are you guessing its filling up with fluid? it might be leaking from the hose that goes from the res to the cylinder, that hose cracks a lot and leaks

There should be a flex line coming out of the side of the brake fluid reservoir that feeds the clutch M/C, a two piece flex/hard line feeds the m/c pressure down to the clutch slave cylinder which is mounted to the bell housing just above the starter.
Is any brake fluid getting on the ground ?
And, as was previously posted, it is best to change both the Master and Slave cylinder at the same time.
