Post 924 Turbo Transmission

Does anyone know how stout these transmissions are? I vaguely remember someone telling me that they were desireable but I do not remember wether it was for the gear ratios or the durabilty (ie stength of the internals. Could someone shed the light on this please?

Wink

I am not sure what the story is on that particular transmission, but I just so happen to have one in my shed taken from a drivable parts car ('81 931) I used for the body on my 924S. If you do find that it is desirable I could sell it my transmission is flawless. Thanks.

Half complete 924S rebuild.

Okay this is from memory so I could be a little off:

The 1980 931 transmission is based on the 915 (from the 911). It is very strong but shifts clunky (just like the 911 with the 915).

In 1981 Porsche wernt to the Audi transaxle (very similar to the ones in the 944). This one isn't as strong, but it shifts a lot nicer.
