Default Idle speed valve..which direction the arrow

87 944 nonturbo

Going to install a new idle speed regulator valve and was wondering about the orientation of the direction of flow arrow is supposed to point...I think mine may be in backwards..if you look at the idle control valve thru the intake ports the arrow is pointing to the right ...and I just went down to the junkyard and looked at a couple of 944's and the idle speed valve just has a weird rosette marking and no arrow on the top side like mine....so I've been having awful idle problems lately, So which way does the arrow point...as it sites in its clamp the arrow..pointing right of left (towards intake)

cannot find anywhere in porsche manual that says which direction to put the valve in...thanks

Default

It should point to the intake manifold... atleast for a turbo it does.
