I agree with Bart that Ford is the best of the domestics. I like imports but they cost too much.... ever price out a Pilot v. Explorer comparably equipped? Pilot, you pay over sticker, Explorer way under sticker and get more "features" although reliability may not be there. Heck, for $5k less, I will take my chances....

Got 227K on my Limited. Nice truck (yes, I call it a truck too. It's a friggin Ranger with a seat!). I've always hated Fords, but my partner's family has a boatload of'em. One of them is a 2000 Contour SVT. Nice car. None of them have been any real trouble and Ford is beginning to grow on me (in spite of the Pinto fiasco). BTW - anyone seen pics of the 04 Stang? Nice looking car

I fully admit to liking Ford trucks. They really seem to hold up well.

Saying that, I'm just aggravated with some of the design issues. Having the bolts for the grill come in from the bottom (behind the bumper), not allowing owners to change tail lights, and the excessive use of plastc scres and fastners,plus I haven't had much luck with the dealership for warrantee work (the next closest dealer is 20 miles).

I like to work on my vehicles and this one hasn't been pleasurable. That's all.

I guess when they designed it they weren't planning on replacing grills very often.

Now, 12 hours or whatever it is to replace an oil pan gasket on my 951? Let's talk about that.

Previous to my 944 I had a 1993 Mustang Convertible. I bought it for $3,000, drove it for 2 years and traded it in for $3,000. During that time, the only thing that it needed was an alignment, new tires, and the regular oil changes (alignment and tires were needed as soon as i got the car). By far I have spent more money on parts and spent many more hours inside the garage for my 944. Is this only because my 944 is older and was abused before I got it, who knows? Besides a 1990 Ford Taurus, my family has had great experiences with Ford and GM, Chrylser on the other hand . . .
