I understand that the stock 951 came with a 115A alternator. While this is all good and dandy for 99% of the people, I just got another amp for my audio system, and the two amps can draw up to just over 100A by themselves! Personally, I don't think that 15A is acceptable to run headlights, motronic, etc. Does anyone know of even higher current alternators that will fit on a 951? A model that happens to be "low noise" is also prefered (if one exists). Thanks in advance.

The capacitors soak up juice in the lower draw conditions and then discharge when your amps hit huge draws like bass.
Some guys have managed to fit big Delcos on. If you really want to draw 100 amps for the amplifiers you may need to start looking at a 200 amp alternator. Those have pretty big frames and would be not so fun trying to fit one on a 951.
A couple points to keep in mind. As the load gets above about 40% of capacity the alternator usually can't make rated voltage and starts to drop down. So that is when your headlights will start to suffer. And you don't want to draw over 80% of alternator capacity if you can help it or you will kill the alternator pretty quick. Cops and emergency vehicles can chew them up like candy when they leave the light bars, etc., going and let the car sit at idle.
In practice you are probably not going to draw 100 amps. There is a guy that was upgrading the 115 amp Bosch alternator to 145 amps, however, I think he gave up on that business. You could give him a call and then put in better wiring and see if you could squeek by.
