Post I've lost my boost!!

i've had my boost turned down to about 10 psi with my reliaboost, and went to try and turn it up a little by shortening the reliaboost and I can't get above about 10.5ish psi. I screwed the controller all the way in, so there were no more threads showing, and it still wouldn't even hit eleven. I saw 17 psi just about a month ago on the same setup. Could my wastegate go bad that quick? Vacuum leak? Any suggestions?

Check all of your fittings and lines for air leaks.

I had to read the topic 3 or 4 times to finally realize it said "I LOST MY BOOST" instead of "I LOST MY *****"

Coolhand -

Chances are, you're looking at a vacuum leak - but under pressure only if you're not having idle problems too.

Easiest thing to find though. Change your fuel filter, and cut the old one in half with a hacksaw. You'll find that one of the fittings comes out on the old filter, and that a standard air chuck for an air compressor tool fits in well. Also - a tire valve fits in well too.

Pressurize the intake to about 7ish PSI, and spray soapy water on all the vacuum connections. You'll find EVERY leak.

Oh yeah... The new fuel filter half fits in perfactly into the rubber J boot on your car, in place of the air flow meter. (DUH... Forgot to tell you where to put your new cool tool....)

Thanks for that tip - I actually found the leak without doing it, it was a tear in one of the hoses. I fixed it and the boost came back fine.. for about 5 seconds. I downshifted into second, and I only got about 4 psi and that's all it would put out. Will a small leak drop you 10 psi, or would this only be caused by a big one that i should see? I searched every connection I could find, and I couldn't see anything. Guess I'll do the fuel filter trick...
