Yeah, neither was my car.. had to put in another cv axle.. actually only the bolts sheared off but I replaced the whole axle anyways... only prob is that the bolts that came with it were like 2 threads shorter and didn't quite come all the way out to the hub... so I'm going to get the oem bolts that go further in to be safe asap.

Now I need to do: motor mounts, odometer gears/replacement (damn german engineering!), and belts waterpump this summer to be safe. Then I need a paint job.. actually it *really* needs one but I can't afford one right now hehe and can't really live w/o my car for a month. Anyways, I'm rambling.. and a 914 with 300 hp (to the wheels?) is scary

deni,

Thanks for the heads up. I'm heading with family in tow to Davis this weekend, and off to Baja for some camping after that. One of my employees is active in the Marina auto-x, (drives a heavily modded s2000 and runs the s2000 web forum), is the event you're talking about in Marina at the airport?

I've been invited to join him at the airport auto-x a bunch of times, but need better rubber; Dunlop s8000s turned Thunderhill into a icetrack event. At least my suspension was flat ;-)

BTW, how do 951s do in auto-x, it seems as though the event is a 1st/2nd gear endeavor, best served with lots of low-end torque.

Cheers,

Steve Cooper
