Post Clutch free play

The factory and haynes manuals specify that there should be 3mm.

I started adjusting it, because it felt like there was a lot...about an inch or more before I hit the spring and it was hard to push the pedal..

So what IS free play? Is it the distance before the spring is engaged? Help me ASAP please, autox tomorow and I want to make sure its right.

thanks,
Adrial

Adrial,
The best way to describe free play is the travel at the top where it seems you can wiggle teh pedal forward and back. You are right by thinking it is before it starts to work the spring....play around with the adjustment. see what works best...Just break the locknut loose and turn the shaft. count the turns if you are uncertain...so you can bring it back.

Good luck,
~Colin
