Default Seat covers/used seats

I want to recover my seats...

I've looked around and on ebay ive seen new covers for $300-$500, Ninepart wants up to $400 a seat just for the material.

Nineapart will sell me used leather sport seats for $1000, but thats out of my budget right this moment.

Is there anywhere that sells cheaper covers? How much do these seats used usually go for?

Otherwise i just may buy universal "racing" seats off ebay for $400/pair:

(yes i know they're probably poor quality, but its better then looking at these:

Suggestions?

thanks,
Jeff

I'd rather keep my stock seats and get seat covers than get some "universal seat" off ebay that has no safety information and wasn't thoroughly tested. I think we had a similar discussion on 944online about the whole debate on "racing seats" and safety etc... I just have a huge beef with no-name aftermarket seats. brakes, seats and seatbelts... these are things I don't go cheap on.

I understand your frustration though... i have torn seats with crapola super duper craptastic seat covers on them from the PO. If I could find the Porsche print material I would get my seats reupholstered since I am hell bent on that material.

Those ebay seats have flimsy backs and feel scary.

Just a heads up.

i was thinking the same thing actually but I decided I'm gonna go with the unholstery kit they sell for like 300... its vynil but should still hold up very well.

Upholstery Kit:

I like these universal racing seats: (the tan one)

But I agree with the other's if your gona get racing seats get a name brand, for saftey.... try Netami their prices are good and they have been tested from what I've heard.

I have late (964) sport seats that need new leather all around. The only kits that look nice enough for me are upwards of $1500 / pair just for the reupholstery kits. I'll just save and wait - they will look AWESOME, once I spend a small fortune on them.

Yikes. Yeah I could see why you wouldnt be too impressed!

The lister I was thinking of had an early NA with I think a brown/tan interior. They seemed to fit really well on his seats.

Here is an Iggee seat cover. I got them off e-bay for $179. They actually fit pretty well. I took the seats out to get them on. There are a bunch of elastic ties that you hook under the seat. A lot easier to get the cover on nice and tight with the seats out.

The seats DrySlick13 has look pretty darn good! I would be very happy if my seats looked that nice... I might order some, or Christmas Present idea...
