My local PCA region (Chicago) recently conducted a member survey. With a response rate of only 6% this may not be "statistically valid," but at least it gives a good indication of the club's membership.
[quote]Our typical member is an educated, (some college or more) 45 year old that earns over $145,700 per year and has been a PCA member for about 4.5 years.
More specifically, here is what we found.
• The average age of our members is a young 49 years old. The median age is 45.
• 46% of us have a college degree or higher.
• 51% earn over $180,000, 49% earn less. The average income is $145,700.
• 31% are top level executives, 13% are senior executives, 13% are sales executives and 12% are professionals (medical, legal, accounting).
• Members spend an average $1,397.00 on their car in a typical year. Keep in mind that this excludes insurance, fuel and PCA event fees!
• It seems that on any given year, 12-16% of our members buy a Porsche, with 12% planning to buy one this year.
• 43% plan to buy a new Porsche for their next purchase, while 57% will by a pre-owned Porsche.

Overall it looks like a very successful group of people. One item that was not mentioned was gender. However, I would guess that the membership base is heavily biased towards men (~90%) vs. women. Anyone have any ideas on clubs with a similar demographic profile except with ~90% women?

I'm glad I can throw some of those statistics way off.
21 years old
Income, well it is low.
Amount I spend on my car each year, umm, a whole lot more than 1k.
Yippee, I have always lived outside of the bell curve, nice to see that continue

Well you less fortunate dudes ie; age/income who will continue to improve your trade/vocation/education will eventually have the stats previously mentioned. Those of you who continue to party and scr-w off while wackin back a six pack of Bacardi Silver, daily, thinkin it's all goin to come to you, will be drivin'beat up 944's, that you pump more money into than a string of good chicks. Is this survey a joke, no not really, but a clear indication of the club we all belong to,"PORSCHE", the very best.

I'm taking stats so...
The fact that the median is LESS than the mean indicates that the ages are skewed right (towards older). Which basically means that the outliers tend to be on the older side rather than the younger side (which surprises me).
Eh...I can't really draw the curves...oh well.

Shoot I can't even afford Bacardi silver! I'm lucky to have the money for a plastic bottle of Aristocrat.
