Light Gels - spec Perry951 or eurospeed951
I am actually updating my truck to LED lights and came across the green light gels that are used to give my instrument cluster that sickly green glow. Where are they available - I have tried searching the 'net for them and cannot find anywhere. They came up in your discussion about the white LEDs that Perry951 installed. I do not want to use the flat sheets that stage lights use - too hard to make fit around bulb. Do either of you have know where to obtain them? (in a preformed shape that is - just like the OEM ones that I am removing)
Here we are using Blue Bulbs from Pep Boys Rice Central:

Same here. All I was going to do was cut a strip to lay over the light clusters.
I suppose you could heat the gel, then push the light into it. This may then mold around the light, and you can cut that little section out of the gel if needed.

Perry, Good idea, however, it's not likely to work with the gels used for stage lights.
I used to work in the television industry and part of my responsibilities at one time or another was lighting, those gels are designed not to melt. The stage lights can put out several hundred degrees and when you figure the gel is only inches away from the light, they have to be able to stand the heat.
I would suggest either a crafts or auto parts store and see if you can find translucent paint made just for lights. Or what about just getting colored LEDs… they come in just about every color under the sun now. Just do a search on the internet for colored LEDs.
Good luck
