Default Intake manifold removal

Quick question when removing it do you need to actually remove the fuel injectors and rail? Could I just disconnect the fuel lines?

Also whats the best way to scrap the manifold gaskets off?

I used a razor for the gaskets and I just unbolted the fuel rail and moved it out of the way when I did it. I would send your injectors off somewhere and get them cleaned. Thats what I did good luck.

yea u need to remove the rail and the injectors come out with the rail. the rail is bolted to the cam tower too. disconnecting the fuel lines is more hassle than removing the rail from the intake manifold.

single edge razor blade or xacto knife blade. very carefully. vacuum out the valve area afterwards

....gaskets? u mean fuel injector o-rings seals? if your current ones are damaged or old, yes u would need more o-rings. u can mail order em or try local auto parts store.

Go to advanced or autozone and you can get the o rings and when you take that intake manifold off since you have it off i would do all the vacuum lines.

Thats why I am taking off the intake manifold actually. I have the vacuum line kit as well as venturi delete for my 86 951. I'm hoping to get it done in a day.

I remove the intake with the fuel rail still attached-- you just need to use a ball-end allen socket because you can't get a straight shot at one or two of the intake bolts. If the intake bolts have been in there for years and are at risk of stripping, it's safer to remove the rail, then remove the intake.
