Angry Noisy Lifters

If I don't drive my 87 at least every other day the lifters make noise for a few minutes. It was down for a week and the lifter noise lasted almost 30 minutes.

Is there any 'quick fix' to keep them quiet?

Back in the 'old days' it seemed like there were lots of backyard fixes (oatmeal in the radiator etc.). I seem to remember someone claiming a quart or two of ATF in the oil would help. Has anyone tried this?

If you have good oil pressure (4-5bat at start up, 2-3 bar when warm) Then your lifters need replaced. If you have low oil pressure at start up, or running, then your not geting enough oil to the lifteres. Fix the oil pressure situation and you should be fine.

Take Care!
