18 x 8 Cayenne wheels on a 944??? PICS OPINIONS WANTED
Take a look guys.....
These are about a 3.5 hour drive from me, they are 18" x 8" off a Cayenne I believe. They are 53mm offset. I have a 86 NA 944, I realize I will need a set of spacers, say about 20mm thick. The seller would take $250 for them this week. So I am looking at the expense of 7 hours driving, a set of spacers (say $100) plus centers, tires etc. I really like the way they look.
I have got my hands on a set of boxed rockers, thinking about a earohatch, I want to go for a GT3 flavored look for what will be my daily driver. I know I know most of you guys HATE boxed rockers and eurohatches, just trying to give you and idea what kind of look I am going for. The car will be white with red PORSCHE striping on the side.
Anyone running these on a 944? Other than spacers what would I need? Longer studs? WIll 20mm spacers do the trick? Will it just not be worth the trouble? Will it throw the steering WAY off? Why are hotdogs and hotdog buns not packaged in the same number? Just kidding on that last question.
Any advice much appreciated guys,
michael

between the 18inch cayenne wheels weight and the spacers weight (or wheel adapters whichever you want to call it) itll add a lot of weight to the hubs VS running 16 inch fuchs. im sure they will fit, but the expense of buying the spacers, new lower profile tires, traveling 7 hours plus the gas for 7 hours, i dont think its worth it IMO.
i know you want to pull the trigger cause of the price, but 7 hour drive for some wheels (especially cayenne wheels) isnt worth it to me. maybe if it was some CCW or fikse wheels or 16 inch fuchs at a great price. but dont let me tell you no...do what you like cause its YOUR car not mine.

somewhere there is a picture of these on a red 944...
with my experience you will need longer studs. ive got 17x6.5 caymans on my 924s but i use them as "street" wheels. they do make for a heavy package though. i am glad i have a set of forged 16s to go with them.

They just look awfully big and heavy. Got any weight specs for them?
You need to figure out the offset differences and then get the appropriate adaptors. BTW, quality adaptors like H&R are likely $200-250 so factor that cost in as well.

Plus, 18" tires cost more too
