Does anyone have this shifter? how does it compare to the autothority shift kit? I am thinking of getting the sfr one, but i want to know how "good" it works

Nuh uh!! Do not!
I have the autothority short shifter.
The only reason to get the autoth instead of the SFR are as follows:
-Want to keep the stock ****
-your linkage outside the trans was a little worn while linkage @ the shifter was perfect
I have my autoth set to the least short position as I wasn't really looking for a real short throw.

I have had the SFR short-shifter for about a year now and the ONLY complaint that I have is that it has the 'vibration' that everyone has been talking about with all the aftermarket shifters. The new SFR shifter is supposed to eliminate the 'vibration' by using a top secret linkage not yet released. I wish that if it were possible that for a small fee, that Tim @SFR would allow those who bought the old tech shifters to either exchange them for the new type or have them converted to the new shifter! That would be really cool.

I'm running one of the original billet shifters that Harrington built. I lubed all the moving parts with some moly lube today (when I put it in lo-cash) and it is perfect now. No vibration, noises, nada. I'd highly reccomend it if he is still making it.

I have the SFR short shifter and love it! I have no idea how you guys are getting vibrations but it must be from the shifter **** you are using? If you use a propar MOMO shifter with the propar rubber damper that slides over the top of the shifter you get a super tight fit with no buzzing or vibrations what so ever!! I have the MOMO F16 Carbon **** used in conjuction with the SFR short shifter and it looks absolutely stunning! Can someone please enlighten me to what this vibration you guys are having I'm just curious, also please leave what type of shifter **** you are using.

I used the Momo **** and no vibrations.Dan uses it and no vibrations.I have a list of about 50 people that use it without any vibrations. The rubber grommets Momo provides really helps to dampen any vibrations. The plastic grommets that come with the cheap ***** typically will allow the shifter to vibrate.
About trading in your old lever.......Our new levers are completely different then the old style so they canot be converted.Sorry.

REmove shift boot
remove rubber boot
remove the snap ring holding the linkage to the shift lever
Slide linkage back
Remove to 13mm? bolts
Lift up black plate through the foam
replace old lever with the new "short" unit
reinstall.
I think that's it

WHo was it that said "quick shift is in the feet"?
