did the bolt mod as well, followed the instructions in the link, its nice but if you have access to a welder it would be best to cut the bolt head off and weld it like others have suggested.

I did the 924 bushing mod this weekend. Having now done both mods, my vote is for the bushing repair by a large amount. Very good feel and it should eliminate any future wear and tear on the metal pieces.

Thanks for the ideas!!! I read this thread last week, and on Sat my linkage let go! I reused the stock/bolt/pin whatever it is called, and welded it to the shift lever, popped it all back together, and whalla! back on the road.
BTW to the original poster and anyone else who uses that method, carry a spare bolt! You will not be left stranded ever again!!

I just did the same yesterday!
well I used an old clutch lever pin out of a Harley I had lay'n around and welded it in where I drilled the old pin out.
nice and stiff now
