Default early offset/late offset

Just wanted to check something with you to be sure. I have a 85.5 early offset car and want to use late offset boxster wheels,i want to keep the early offset for the day i score some fuchs but minimize the use of spacers with the new wheels. On the rear i know i'm forced to use spacers but on the front i was thinking of just swapping the control arms with a pair of late offset arms and tie rods instead of using spacers and just change back to the short arms when i want to use early wheels. What do you think, will it work ?

IMO, too much work. Everytime you do that you are going to need an alignment. I would just buy the spacers, use them until you get your fuchs and then sell the spacers and your late offset wheels.

soo your going to swap the control arms and the tie rod ends JUST to change wheels back and forth?? AND youll need an alignment every time??!! too much work and hassle just for wheels.

convert the whole thing to late offset or just use spacers. the latter is the easiest imo.

It's not like i'm going to swap them around every day,who knows i may never swap them again or i will do it in a couple of years and the alignment is just 20$ and 15 minutes.I just don't feel comfortable using spacers in the front plus the boxster 17" wheels are lighter than any 16" 944 wheel except the fuchs and i would like to take advantage of that. Only thing i wanted to know will i run into any problems by swapping just the control arms and tie rods?

I'm just saying that they're not any heavier than 16" and i don't intend in making them heavier by adding spacers. 7" phonedial is 8,4kg - 7"x17 boxster is 8,2kg ,with tires they should be about the same because of the 17" heavier tire. Not even the 15" phonedials i have now aren't much lighter at 7,7kg . Where can you get an alignment for $20 that will correct your caster and toe, all in 15 minutes? I just got a quote today for just a front end alignment and the cheapest I found was $50 ish plus tax.

Cheap it is but cheap you get ,it's hard to find a good alignment specialist over here and i live in Rome ,imagine that .Last time i did it i had to do it twice, first time car was pulling to the right. I think i found one after searching and asking but i still have to see with my own eyes .
