Default gauge cluster question

I was putting a cluster from a 90 s2 and putting it in my 87 944 cranked the car and none of the gauges work except the fuel gauge. Will these clusters interchange? The old cluster worked fine except a jumpy fuel gauge and a broken odometer. What am I missing here?

The circuit on the back of the cluster is different. If you swap the gauges into your old cluster, everything should work fine. I'm running 968 gauges in a 1986 951 cluster.

Thanks for the info. After a quick comparison I saw that mine were the same part number. I got in a hurry and reversed the connectors on left side of the cluster. It works great now.
