Talking Great day for the 944!!!! A 944 beats all comers!!

Well guys it finally happened. A normally aspirated 944 Took Top Time of Day at our PCA Zone 8 Autocross and 3 of top 6 spots overall!

Drawing over 60 cars from all around Arizona and even as far as California and New Mexico, Phoenix Flight Autocross is always the biggest and most prestgious autocross of the season!

Who says the 944 is not a good Autocross Car!

Good stuff Is this guy a rennlister? You still need to respect those 914 guys though! It seems like there's always one in the mix.

The winner is not a rennlister. (Not that I am aware of) He used to be a boxster & 914 guy. Then got drawn into the 944 spec racing fold. Now has has a 993 targa and the 914 is for sale!
Never had and Top time of days in his Boxster or 914 though.

Now as you move down the list you might find some rennlisters!

Cool

Yes!

The www.spec-944.com car #76 Jon A. took top time of day, as well as his wife, Alison A. over the women. It was difficult being a spectator...

We started auto-crossing our 84.5 944 in 1995 with SCCA Northwest region; as well as the PCA there. Those that know auto-xing know several reining SCCA champs are from that region. Back then... there were 4 of us with black 944s that were constantly in the hunt for TT of Day. Infact one of them, Bill Buetow from Seattle just won his first championship last month, however it was in a Vette. Hmmm, need to call that guy! Also Greg and Jodi Fordahl. I am sure there were others as Ron and Karen Babb normally bring home the bacon as well.

944s have always been a great handling car and so forgiving! Still have one I drive daily, and 2 for road racing.

Glad you mentioned the Phoenix event! Will we see you at the enduro and race weekend at Firebird over the T-Day weekend? Do a HPDE on us Sunday in the 944!
